I know, I know, two years ago… but since this topic has already developed far enough that I think I'm out of it, I kinda felt I should develop my own thoughts about Billie into postage by taking a look at and responding to the opinions of many others:
i don't like her.She doesn't fit in on the show shes not like the girls and its not right to me yeah sure shes nice but she only thinks of herself and her sister and she shouldn't only care about that.Shes a good witch but i don't like her.
That sounds like you're asking her to be
just like everyone else. Plus I believe the Ultimate Power saga consisted of a Leo-obsessed Piper and an evil Christy polarizing the entire picture. They're the ones who thought only about themselves and what they wanted. You notice Billie actually somewhat tried to convince Christy that the Charmed Ones weren't as bad as she said? Her attempts were akin to how Phoebe constantly held off on the idea that they were gonna have to fight the Jenkins sisters.
i hate her! she screws up so many times!!!!!!!
Yes, and no beginning witch ever,
ever, screwed up or proved capable of being manipulated by evil. Oh wait, all the Charmed Ones have? Nevermind.
Sorry for the hostile-sounding sarcasm, but coming in and screwing up a lot is actually one of the things about her that makes this character a person.
I never liked Billie. She just annoyed me to no end. It got even worse when Christy came in and she kind of turned on the Halliwells. I get that Christy is her sister, but she just forgot about everything the sisters did for her and tried to kill them.. Tsk, tsk..
Sorry. Again, I think Piper should be sooner attacked for forgetting the mentor-protégé relationship she and her Charmed kin had with Billie. She was already in full-kill mode by the time Christy was even close to convincing Billie that they were bad, remember? So that should be reason to hate Piper as well, but then again none of us are gonna go against her so swiftly…
No, I don't like her at all, and don't see the point in her being there.
If they wanted to give the girls a break and allow someone else to use their powers, why not just use Wyatt a bit?
I really don't see the need in her.
Oh, yes. Piper would be so willing to send her 3-year-old kid down alley lane somewhere to be the resident demon killing baby. Cause it's either that or they constantly tail him for backup and thus might as well do it themselves, which would defeat the purpose of that whole horrible saga and probably cause something even more horrible.
What I don't get is why would Billie get to be in the show over Leo, who has been there from Season 1.
Well, Kern wanted a storyline built around a really powerful new witch, thus enter Kaley, and then the budget caught up with them and they had to come up with the Leo freezing angle so they didn't have to use and pay Brian more than they could afford while at the same time making sure not to kill his character off. I actually think it worked out better in the end. It once again sweetened the pot for Piper and Leo's ultimately fulfilling kiss at the end. Besides, the flash forward into the future was much more favorable towards Leo than it was towards Billie, after all. He gets to teach magic school and be with Piper into old age. She gets to babysit Phoebe and the boring cupid's children.
I agree, though it was the same when Rose joined and was on the credits after Alyssa, but BEFORE Holly, which I thought was wrong.
I thought ending the credits with "Holly Marie Combs
as Piper" was a brilliant nod, actually.
I never really understand that either. But I thought that it was a bigger deal by them taking out Brian and putting in Kaley, then having Holly last in the credits.
Unless one wants to say those credits were more episode-specific than season-specific, then that was a bad idea. Not horrible, but bad.
i like her but than again, i don't like her cause she has a thing for disobediance and that almost get the sisters killed more than once
Yes, and Paige and Phoebe were perfect little angels who never made costly or potentially deadly mistakes.
I thought she was a decent addition to the show, but she was NOT worth giving up Leo for. I liked that they tried to end it on the note of sisters against sisters, because that would sorta be their match, but I hate the way they went around it. I thought it was stupid that they set Billie up as this badass, smart, innovative witch and then spent the whole rest of the season dumbing her down. The way she let her sister manipulate her was pretty stupid.
True, they did overplay the effect that seeing her sister back had on her. But at least the writers put enough care into it so that she
tried to reason past the manipulation against the Charmed Ones. Besides, the fact is, badass, smart, innovative witch or not, she was still just starting out. You can't have a starter surpass the more experienced Charmed Ones in anything but pure power (if even that).
yea but she should've realized if demosn took her sisters what do you expect her to return as good?
Her long-lost sister who she finally just found and rescued from those demons was her weakness, as it would be for anyone. Besides, she could already tell that Christy was a scared little girl being held against her will since she was projected to her. So while I agree that it isn't smart, you can understand why she'd think that way. Though, like I said, it was a bit overplayed.
After much discussion on the subject of Billie I have come to the conclusion
MOST people like her but only think they dislike her because she was the main story in the end. I think people would like her more if she died of left etc and there was another series afterwards. I think that's the main reason people dislike Billie so much.
Anyway my vote is like.
Agreed. That's actually my main gripe about Billie in the first place. She was too rapidly established as the key to this Ultimate Power for us to really buy into it all the way. It's kinda the same thing alot of wrestling fans have against John Cena (yes, I'm big on that as well). Pushed to near invincibility way too fast. I actually think they tried to make her personality more human and naive in order to make up for that mistake, but maybe Brad Kern and company didn't hear enough times that two wrongs don't make a right.
i dont know billie but i hate that when the show ended that she was still there anyone know what im talking about like it wasnt all ppp"s when the eighth season ended......
So you wish she would've died because she was a non-Halliwell witch? She was their protégé, and she ended up relegated to babysitter by the flash forward ending. In my opinion she had her flaws, but it wasn't like she had no choice but to die or else she was overstaying her welcome.
I thought she was too thrown-in for my liking. But I didn't hate her.
Yeah, I did find that as a bit of a problem.
It didn't bother me that she was blonde, but I do agree she didn't fit in with the other girls. She just seemed like a sort of random character to put into the season. I don't know.. sometimes I thought she was alright, but other times I got kind of annoyed by her.
I especially didn't like that last scene where she had to cry when Christy died. I thought the acting was really bad. That's just my opinion though. I've always heard that she's better in comedies, I just didn't think that Charmed (as a drama) worked so well for Kaley Cuoco.
Not gonna lie… the forte of Kaley Cuoco is not a
Charmed-like program. But trust me. I have seen bad crying in the past. And Kaley Cuoco is not bad crying. Bad crying would be the following link from WWE's Stephanie McMahon during her father's "death" storyline:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvdrqFmBsRY&fmt=18So all in all, the way I see it, Billie was a fine character, with her promise and her flaws which made her feasible for a prodigy, and Kaley Cuoco played her to a well enough extent that it didn't kill the vibe at all to me. But she could not outshine the main Charmed girls no matter how much Kern tried to overpush her, mainly because quite frankly, a show like this is not her thing. Yes, it's got comedy, but there's a difference between
having comedy and
being a comedy. Kaley fits better for a show that
is a comedy. Oh, and did I mention she was overpushed?
So, long story short, yes I like Billie, and yes I think she has value as a character, but by no means am I gonna proclaim her a work of major greatness.
