Rose Jane McGowan

One of six children, Rose was born and raised in Italy, and spent her childhood travelling throughout Europe. She returned to the United States and settled in Seattle to attend high school. A chance trip to Los Angeles resulted in her being cast in the film "The Doom Generation," for which she earned a Best Newcomer nomination at the 1996 Independent Spirit Awards. That same year, she also appeared in the smash film "Scream" as Sydney's (Neve Campbell) best friend Tatum.
In 1997, McGowan starred in four films presented at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival -- "Going All the Way," "Louis & Clark & George," "Nowhere" and the short film "Seed." The following year, she starred with Ben Affleck and Peter O'Toole in "Phantoms" and the independent feature "Southie," which won Best Picture at the 2000 Seattle Film Festival. In 1999, she starred in "Jawbreaker" and starred with Brendan Fraser in "Monkeybone" and completed filming "Vacuums," which was co-written and directed by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, the duo that created the Broadway hit Stomp. She just rapped production on the CBS movie Elvis where she played Ann Margret
She currently resides in Los Angeles.
