This is the latest statement from the head of Starfury, posted at 12.01am
"This is just about the worst news that STARFURY has had in ten years, but unfortunately with guests’ careers, it is always a possibility.
Rose McGowan will sadly no longer be able to attend STARFURY: THE WITCHING HOUR.
Rose has been cast in the film GRINDHOUSE, directed by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. At first, it seemed like her schedule would allow for her to attend this event, as she was initially just required for the Robert Rodriguez portion of the film, but she will now also be appearing in the Quentin Tarantino section as well.
As a result she has been forced to cancel her appearance.
I know how bitterly disappointed all the attendees of this event will now be. But Rose is an actress first, and her acting career must take precedence. This film will launch her into the mainstream, and is too good a career opportunity for her to turn down.
While of course disappointed that she can no longer attend, we here at STARFURY are delighted to hear that her career continues to grow from strength to strength.
Rose was very keen on the opportunity to thank the fans of the show for their support, and we hope to bring her to the UK at a later date.
STARFURY: THE WITCHING HOUR will still be taking place on 14-16 July. I am currently working on replacement guests for this event. It will be a monumental task to replace a guest of Rose’s calibre, but I am committed to making the world’s first CHARMED event a success for the fans attending.
I do already have two good name supporting stars from the event who have agreed to attend, and have put in several other offers. I will make an announcement on Monday regarding replacement guests, the final line up, and the events schedule."
We can't really say more than that.
Like all fans who were attending we understand why Rose is unable to attend and that she has no choice but to put her career first...but we can't help but to be disappointed.
There is always hope and there is always next time
