A 'Prisoner' among us 'Nip' man set for indie drama
"Nip/Tuck" star Julian McMahon will play the title character in "Prisoner," an independent drama that has just begun production. David Alford and Robert Lynn wrote the script and are making their helming debuts.
McMahon plays a Hollywood director who is taken prisoner while scouting an abandoned prison for a film location. Elias Koteas plays the jailer; Dagmara Dominczyk, Kim Raver, Rocky Carroll and Tom Guiry round out the cast.
Pic is financed by Fresh Produce Films, whose Marshall Persinger is producing. Steve Matzkin and Sam Logan are exec producing.
The film is lensing in Nashville, predominantly at the Tennessee State Prison. That facility no longer holds prisoners but was used as the shoot site for prison pics "The Last Castle" and "The Green Mile."
McMahon will next be seen as villain Dr. Doom in Fox's "Fantastic Four." He's rumored to be on a shortlist of candidates to play James Bond.
